Support for Donald Trump has dipped, a result of the Republican candidate’s recent weeks of campaign missteps. Now, a new ABC News/Washington Post poll has found that Hillary Clinton has jumped to a wide 12-point lead against Trump.

The poll finds that Americans are not at ease with the thought of a Trump presidency, a surge from just last month, when Clinton was leading Trump by a narrow 3 percentage points. According to the poll, about two-thirds of Americans view Trump as biased against women, minorities, or Muslims, and view his comments about a federal judge of Mexican American heritage as racist.

Most recent polls could depict the view on Trump as particularly negative. Aside from Trump’s repeatedly xenophobic comments, his campaign has encountered a lack of funding and staff shakeups; many also saw Trump’s response following the attack in Orlando earlier in June as inappropriate. The poll, conducted immediately in the aftermath of the shooting, found that the overwhelming majority of Americans believed that Clinton had a better response to the crisis.

The poll also found resurgence in approval for President Barack Obama, a welcoming sign for Clinton, who would benefit from Obama's support on the campaign trail. Obama holds an 88 percent approval among Democrats, 50 percent among independents and 18 percent among Republicans. According to the poll, 85 percent of Obama approvers support Clinton.
