At first, Ben Affleck and Ryan Seacrest would not seem to have all that much in common. One is a movie star who has always been a tabloid regular; the other is a host and business mogul who has, in comparison with most, remained out of the gossip pages. It’s hard to imagine Affleck launching a suits collection, just as it is hard to envision Seacrest ever getting any tattoo, so much as one that covers a good portion of the back in bright shades.

But Hollywood is a funny place: with a semi-limited pool of individuals from which to pick, celebrities become friends with other (unlikely) celebrities in the way that you might become friends with a person two aisles over at work—out of, mostly, sheer proximity and ease. At some point along the way, Seacrest and Affleck must have met and traded hair coiffing tips (very similar hairstyles for these two, is our “joke” here) and shared Jennifer Lopez anecdotes (one almost married her; one works with her—though not for much longer) and generally decided they enjoyed hanging out.

The pair—along with billionaire businessman Ted Waitt—were “spotted letting loose” over the weekend in Los Angeles, per People. The trio arrived at 1OAK, and, according to the source, “Ben got to the venue and hung out with Ryan in the VIP booth.” Now, if our item ended here, it would still be pretty satisfying, offering just enough so that you can imagine Affleck and Seacrest nursing tequila sodas as they bob their heads to Rihanna’s “Work,” though maintaining steely glares so as to not seem like they are too into the dancing.

But, do not fret, there is more! The source went on, “[Ben] was seen in high spirits throughout the whole night and was overheard saying that he was really excited about the success of his movie.” (We imagine Seacrest just sort of nodding as Affleck says, “Hey, I’m really excited about the success of my movie!,” maybe even shouting back at Ben, “Hard to hear you over this music!” even though he can totally hear him.)

Meanwhile, even though it seems improbable a club could handle more than the Seacrest-Affleck pairing, there were other famous guests at 1OAK that night, too. Justin Bieber was seen at a “nearby VIP table” with a “group of friends . . . and bottles of champagne,” while Rita Ora danced with some friends. People says that Bieber and Affleck, in fact, interacted: “Justin introduced himself to Ben . . . He was thrilled to see Ben as he is a huge fan. Justin even joked that he should be in Ben’s next superhero movie.” If there has not already been a poster Photoshopped with Affleck as Batman and Bieber as Robin then we will never be able to trust our judgments related to the Internet again.
