Sarah Jessica Parker played the beloved Sex and the City character Carrie Bradshaw, who’s reputation in the American collective conscious is still as that of the most fashion-forward of New York women. But Parker married her husband Matthew Broderick in a non-traditional black dress in 1997. That is to say, if she hadn’t spent a decade of garnering the good will of the style-aware, would the gown still be remembered as a daring and iconic choice? That will remain a question for the ages (and the fashion gods), but Parker, for one, has some regrets.

On Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, the host called the choice “badass,” while Parker said, “Oh, I wish it was because I was badass.” Offering a little more insight into her shopping process, she said, “I just was too embarrassed to spend any time looking for a wedding dress. There was a store that I liked that I knew, and I just went and got whatever they had hanging.

“No, I would do it differently,” she said. Parker has admitted to her regret before and promised that she’s going all in on white if she and Broderick ever renew their vows.

In addition to the black wedding dress discussion, the W.W.H.L. interview bore some additional S.J.P. filmography fruit. She and the rest of the Hocus Pocus cast are more than ready for a sequel—they’re just waiting for someone to say “go”—and the S.A.T.C. threequel is “in a warming drawer.” In other news, she personally believes Jack “Post-It Note Breakup” Berger was Carrie’s worst boyfriend, comparing their fictional relationship to iron supplements. A person is supposed to take them because it’s good for you but it’s not pleasant. Chris Noth of “Big” fame asked that question via video.
