For Whom the Scale Tolls

Kim Kardashian West Compares Herself to Ernest Hemingway

On the Kardashians’ visit to the author’s Cuban home, Kim found personal parallels to the prolific author’s weight-watching habits.

It turns out that we might just have a modern-day Ernest Hemingway among us. That’s right, folks. Look past all those wordsmiths at The New Yorker and right at one Kim Kardashian West. In Sunday’s upcoming episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kim and Kourtney took a trip to Hemingway’s Cuba home, and Kim, who, along with her sister, “read The Old Man and the Sea in high school,” found out that Hemingway lived a lot like a Kardashian.

Case in point: He checked his weight every single day using a scale he kept in his bathroom and took notes on the wall to keep track of his physique. “That’s like me!” Kim exclaims. “That’s cool.” And his piles of magazines are still in his home—probably not old covers of Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue featuring his own face, but still, a very Kardashian move.
