Since arriving in Canada on Saturday for the weeklong royal tour, Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been out of the public eye, camping out at Government House in Victoria while Mom and Dad—also known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge—made a host of appearances (and even traveled up to Yukon for a night).

But George and Charlotte, three years old and one year old respectively, have made their return to the public stage today, and they have done so in quite the manner. The young Cambridges were the guests of honor at a garden party at Government House, in Victoria, for parents and children from military families. And the organizers, as one would hope, went all out for the event, as there was a petting zoo, puppet show, and a set of balloon animals brought out for the morning event.

The family emerged, down a set of steps, William in a casual pullover fleece look, while George sported his trademark knee-high socks (and red shorts). Charlotte was dressed in a light blue dress, with a cardigan, and Kate—not that anyone ever cares what she’s wearing, or anything—was in a cream See by Chloé dress.

Charlotte was seen jetting to the arch of balloons, and could be heard, per the Daily Mail, uttering the word, “Pop.” George eventually picked up a “fish-shaped bubble gun,” which he “cheekily fired at his little sister.” He later went off to engage with the miniature horses (named Honey and T.J.), while Charlotte continued to be “obsessed” with the balloons.

All in all, there are going to be enough pictures from this event to populate at least four different handmade George-and-Charlotte wall calendars.
