A fresh face to the fashion-and-beauty scene, 16-year-old Iris Law (daughter of Jude Law and Sadie Frost) is making her major beauty campaign debut as the face of Burberry Beauty’s Liquid Lip Velvet. The news was announced worldwide today from London.

Following in the footsteps of previous Burberry Beauty faces, Edie Campbell, Cara Delevingne, Jordan DunnLily Donaldson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Amber Anderson, Law is now making a splash of her own (see her behind the scenes here). Vanity Fair spoke to Law on the eve of her big debut.

Vanity Fair: Tell us about yourself, Iris. What are you up to at the moment?

Iris Law: I’m in my GCSE year at school. My favorite subjects are art, English, and biology, but I’d really like to do [a] fashion-textiles A-level, since I haven’t yet studied materials and making clothes.

Do you enjoy modeling?

Yes, I really enjoy modeling.

How would your friends describe you?

I think they would say I am creative, bubbly, and ambitious.

You’re the face of the new Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet campaign. How does it feel to be starring in your first beauty campaign?

The Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet campaign is my first-ever advertising campaign, and so I was really excited about the shoot and starring in it.

And how are you about your debut being in a Burberry campaign?

Burberry is such an iconic British brand, and it’s an honor to be part of the Burberry family and to be starring in a global campaign for them.

Burberry is the quintessential British brand. Do you have any fond memories or associations with the brand?

I love how Burberry supports British musicians and actors.

Tell us about the shoot. What was the best part about it?

The shoot itself was great fun—an amazing experience. I had such fun trying on the different Burberry outfits. I’ve kept the khaki-green bomber jacket I wore, and I love it! I was really pleased about having my makeup done by Wendy Rowe.

How does it feel to also be a part of the Burberry family now, which has included the likes of Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne and Lily James?

It’s a real honor for me to be part of the Burberry family now and follow in the footsteps of women like Kate, Cara, and Lily.

Which are your favorite Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet shades?

My favorites are Oxblood [No. 53] and Bright Plum [No. 49].

Day to day, do you stick to one lip color or do you prefer to experiment?

I only wear dark lipsticks when I’m going out at night. During the day I like my makeup to look natural, so I’d usually wear a nude or pink. I like them all, though.

Can you share any tips on how best to apply Liquid Lip Velvet?

I apply it to the middle of my bottom lip and use my finger to move the tint across my lips so that the coverage is light. The color of Liquid Lip Velvet is strong, so you can vary how much you want to apply.

Now that you’re a Burberry Beauty girl, what are your Burberry makeup-bag essentials?

My makeup essentials change very regularly. I often don’t think about it, but products just drift in and out of regular use for me. At the moment, it’s probably lip balm, sheer concealer, powder, blusher, mascara, contour stick, and some liquid lip colors. I use First Kiss in Soft Peach, Sheer Concealer in Light Beige, Nude Powder in Ochre, Cat Lashes in Jet Black, Light Glow in Earthy Blush, Contour Pen in Medium and, of course, Liquid Lip Velvet.

Who is your beauty icon?

That would be Brigitte Bardot.

What is your signature look?

Definitely trousers with either trainers or shoes, and a vintage T-shirt or silk blouse. It really depends on my mood.

Whose wardrobe do you raid most? That would have to be my mum’s.

Being that you’re a true Londoner, do you have a favorite place in London?

Apart from being at home, I really like all that the city has to offer. We have amazing museums. I love to go to the Tate and check out new art installations.

Beyond Britain, where are your favorite cities and places, and why?

I love New York. It’s great to shop there, of course, but there is so much more it has to offer. New York is really energizing.

You’re allowed to bring three luxuries to a desert island. What would they be?

Art equipment, fireworks, and a friend.
