Spring has officially sprung, and with it come plenty of new Netflix offerings. This April, you can finally stay in and enjoy brunch with Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha, as all episodes from HBO's beloved series Sex and the City will hit Netflix for the first time ever.
For those who just finished their umpteenth SATC rewatch, Netflix has plenty of other options from a plethora of genres. Sci-fi fans can check out Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver, on Netflix April 19, to see rebel warriors prepare for battle against dark forces from the Motherworld. For the true crime obsessives, there's What Jennifer Did, which premieres on the streamer on April 9. The Netflix documentary from director Jenny Popplewell promises to share what happened when a group of intruders break into the home of Vietnamese immigrants and its ripple effect on a a small Canadian town.
Those interested in lighter fare this spring can check out any of the multiple new comedy specials Netflix is offering up in April, including work from celebrated comedians like Neal Brennan, Jimmy Carr and Demetri Martin.
Here’s what else is coming to Netflix in April:
Ripley
Scammers gotta scam. All Of Us Strangers star Andrew Scott is the title character in Ripley, Netflix's dark limited series about the infamous grifter previously played by Matt Damon in the 1999 classic The Talented Mr. Ripley. Based on Patricia Highsmith's bestselling Tom Ripley novels, Ripley tells the same story of the notorious 1960's scammer who's hired by a wealthy man to get his prodigal son to return home from Italy—but in a brand new way. “It was a heavy part to play,” Scott told VF. “I found it mentally and physically really hard. That’s just the truth of it.” Ripley hits Netflix on April 4.
Sex and the City: Seasons 1-6
And Just Like That… Sex and the City is on Netflix. Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and Kim Cattrall's famous foursome will make their way onto the streaming platform this April, and the discourse will surely follow. Given that the SATC revival series won't return until at least 2025, Sex and the City fans can fill the hole in their heart with a fresh rewatch on a new platform. Still, it's anyone's guess what a new generation of viewers will make of these decidedly early aughts ladies. What will the masses make of Carrie, her Manolo obsession, and her main character energy? Will today’s teens relate more to Charlotte's prudishness or Miranda's careerism? Can Gen Z handle Samantha Jones? We'll find out when Sex and the City struts onto Netflix April 1.
Scoop
What a time for a new movie about the royal family. Scoop stars Gillian Anderson and Rufus Sewell as BBC interviewer Emily Maitlis and Prince Andrew, respectively, and provides a fictionalized account of how the women of BBC's Newsnight locked down Andrew for his notoriously scandalous interview in 2019. The interview—where Andrew defended his ties to Jeffrey Epstein—was such a calamity that it led to the royal taking a “step back” from his official duties. While everyone else may be wondering about the status of Princess Kate, you can watch a fictional dramatization of how Prince Andrew's disastrous interview went down on Netflix April 5.
The Circle: Season 6
The Circle will take catfishing to a whole new level. Netflix's hit reality competition show, in which contestants compete in a social experiment to see who will become the top influencer, will see status and strategy collide in its newest iteration. Will season six take a note from Peacock's The Traitors and cast more recognizable reality television stars, like season one champion and Perfect Match star Joey Sasso? You'll have to wait and see when The Circle returns to Netflix on April 17.
