Ivanka and Melania Trump Can’t Stop Wearing the Same Color Pink

On trend, but maybe matching a bit too much.

  1. Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin’s wedding on Saturday was the place to be if you work in the White House (which, it should be noted, was not held in the White House). Fifty-four-year-old Mnuchin and his fiancée, Scottish actress Louise Linton, were wed by Vice President Mike Pence in front of President Trump and essentially his entire cabinet, including press secretary Sean Spicer and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C. First Lady Melania Trump and First Daughter Ivanka Trump were also at the ceremony, and while they arrived separately, they looked like they had maybe consulted the same stylist, wearing similar blush-pink gowns.

Melania Trump attended the wedding alongside her husband, wearing a ruffled pink J. Mendel gown and a pair of Manolo Blahnik heels. It was the same shade of pink that had many outlets (including this one) wondering if she was channeling millennial pink while wearing an Hervé Pierre dress to the White House Easter Egg Roll in April. Ivanka Trump, also a known fan of the color, stepped out with her husband, senior adviser Jared Kushner, wearing a similar silhouette to her step-mother in the same light pink. The coincidence seems to be just that, as both women have taken a liking to the trendy hue lately.

Even at a wedding that had all that Washington has to offer—the sitting president, a V.P. officiant, a performance by “kilted bagpipers and ballerinas in white tutus,” Ivanka and Melania Trump still managed to snag the spotlight. Perhaps this one will serve as a lesson: maybe give each other a call next time before heading to the same event.
