Telluride, Colorado, and Toronto, Ontario, could not be two more different cities—but they’re the twin poles of awards-season buzz this week, as critics fly from Labor Day weekend’s Telluride Film Festival directly to the Toronto International Film Fest, which is now in full swing. Vanity Fair’s film critic Richard Lawson did just that, and phoned in to this week‘s Little Gold Men podcast with a dispatch about what he learned from Telluride. The short version: Gary Oldman is probably going to win an Oscar. Long version? Well, you have to listen to the show to find that out.

Also on this week’s episode, Katey Rich and Mike Hogan take a look ahead at Toronto, and preview what’s to come from the partnership between Vanity Fair and T.I.F.F. at this year’s festival. Katey and Mike will be hosting red-carpet livestreams every night until Monday; you can check out the first one, with Katey and guest co-host Dorota Lech of T.I.F.F., from the red carpet for Borg/McEnroe right here. There will also be Facebook Lives, and next week a special partnership between the Little Gold Men team and T.I.F.F.’s Long Take.

Returning to this year’s festival will be Krista Smith talking on-camera to most of the festival’s biggest stars, with photographer Justin Bishop taking exclusive portraits. For that, Richard’s reviews, and much more, check out all of our T.I.F.F. coverage throughout the next week.
