Beloved film star and former wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson released a video early Sunday with a rare political message. The registered independent and his unbelievable biceps appeared before a bush in a tightly fitting blue shirt to put his weight behind the Joe Biden and Kamala Harris ticket. It marks his first ever public presidential endorsement.

Joking that when he does something he “does it big,” he then threw to a short virtual conversation with the candidates.

“It’s DJ!” Biden shouted when he first saw Johnson on screen, which, in fact, is what people call him in real life. Harris said she was a fan of his work, from Fast and Furious (all of them, she said, despite Johnson not appearing in the series until the fifth entry) to Jumanji. Johnson called Harris a “certified badass."

Johnson’s primary softball question asked how the team would earn the respect of the American voter. Biden’s earnest response about the importance of honesty was a little vague, to the point that he concluded with a chuckling, self-aware “it sounds so basic.” Harris also hammered home the importance of truth. Johnson followed-up using words like decency, progress, and kindness. He concluded by saying there was much more to come.

No one mentioned President Donald Trump.

The Hill noted that while Johnson has maintained a politically neutral persona, he did speak at the 2000 Republican National Convention. That same year, however, he appeared at a non-partisan World Wrestling Entertainment voter registration event that took place at the Democratic National Convention. They also cited an interview in Rolling Stone where said he voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012, but abstained from voting in 2016.

In early September, Johnson revealed that he and his family tested positive for coronavirus. Also this month, the former wrestler ripped the front gate to his home out of its brick structure because a storm had caused a power outage. Technicians were on their way but "a man's gotta go to work."
