Ben Schwartz Confirms What We All Know: Stranger Things’ Steve Is Jean-Ralphio’s Father

Finally, the truth comes out.

When Stranger Things premiered last month, fans couldn’t help but notice a striking similarity between Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) and Parks and Recreation’s Jean-Ralphio Saperstein (Ben Schwartz). Indeed, the two characters look very similar, and given that Stranger Things was set in the past, you can hardly blame anyone for being suspicious of this ostensible coincidence—or, say, for coming up with a fan theory about Jean-Ralphio’s parentage.

And now, the truth has come out: in a humorous short for The Late Late Show, Schwartz confirmed (or, at least, heavily implied) that Steve is the real father of his Parks and Rec character. And if that wasn’t enough proof for you, Parks and Rec creator Michael Schur double-confirmed the theory on Twitter.
