In her last official engagement before the Christmas holiday, Meghan Markle visited Brinsworth House, a nursing home specifically designed for British entertainers, on Tuesday. The Duchess of Sussex had previously attended the Royal Variety Performance, with Prince Harry, which aids the charity that supports the Brinsworth House. Per People, the organization—long supported by the royals—“helps hundreds of British entertainers in need of assistance as a result of old age, ill health, or hard times.”

Meghan wore a gray coat—made by Canadian brand Soia & Kyo—for the engagement, over a white Brock Collection dress, which featured a floral pattern and, as People put it, “hugged her growing baby bump.” No trademark messy bun to be had today; Meghan opted for a sleek pulled-back bun.

Meghan toured the facilities, and seemed very at ease for the appearance, chatting casually with residents, and at one point gathering round for a piano rendition of a Christmas song. (When told by one resident that everyone at the house are “all great friends,” she said, “I hope I can join the club.” She also spoke to one resident in fluent Spanish.)

She’s captured on video at one point being asked by a resident how she’s doing. “Very good,” she responds, putting her hands on her stomach, and continuing that she is feeling “very pregnant today.” She followed up by asking the resident if she had any kids, to which the resident answered, “No, I don’t. I had a career.” Meghan’s response? “Yes, that I understand.” Meghan also showcased her impeccable calligraphy skills, making a Christmas-themed card to display at the house.

The appearance comes a day after Meghan’s estranged father, Thomas Markle, made headlines yet again for giving a televised interview for Good Morning Britain, in which he said he feels he has been “ghosted” by Meghan, and is hoping he will hear from her for the holidays.

Harry and Meghan will be heading to Sandringham for the Christmas break, though they reportedly will not be joined by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, as had been previously reported. (Kate Middleton’s parents, who have never taken part in the Sandringham Christmas, will not be present, either.) Meghan is clearly feeling the Christmas spirit already, telling the crowd “merry Christmas” on her way out of the building.
