Burning Man Like You’ve Never Seen It Before

Burning Man may have become famous for stunts like a bowling alley in the middle of the desert and a “human carcass wash” for dust-covered participants. But to come much closer to understanding what happens at the three-day desert spectacle, take in photographer Anders Overgaard’s collection “Burning Man—Nothing Left Behind,” which coincides with Overgaard’s book of the same title, Nothing Left Behind. Overgaard, who attended Burning Man in 2013, captured indelible images of the attendees, the art they created, and the desert that surrounded them. The photos will be on display from September 27 through October 27 at the Jason McCoy Gallery in New York City.
