Prince Harry has selected his best man for his wedding day, and it looks like he stayed in the family for this one. Prince William will stand by his brother’s side on May 19 as he marries Meghan Markle, Kensington Palace confirmed in a tweet Thursday morning.

As the palace noted, Harry served as William’s best man in 2011, when he married Kate Middleton. The Twitter account also included some vintage prince photos to go along with the announcement.

As The Telegraph wrote in 2011, Harry was William’s right-hand man at the altar. When Kate entered Westminster Abbey, Harry whispered to his brother, who was turned facing the altar, as is tradition in royal weddings.

“You are alright; she is here now,” he appeared to whisper to his brother. William had to wait four minutes before he could turn around and see his bride, who arrived at the end of the aisle.

William has been very supportive of his brother since the 33-year-old royal and his bride-to-be announced their engagement in November. But, being his older brother, he had to get a dig in along with his congratulations last fall:

“We’re very excited, delighted for them both. We’re wishing them all the happiness in this very exciting time,” he said, adding: “Personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge and will stop scrounging my food, which he’s done for the last few years!”

Along with Prince William, sources say that Harry has asked his two best friends Thomas Van Straubenzee and Tom Inskip to take on key roles at his wedding. Known as “Van” and “Skippy,” they have been friends of William and Harry since their school days and are Harry’s “partners in crime.” While it is expected that they will have official roles at the wedding as ushers (Kensington Palace has confirmed that further details on the wedding party will be announced in due course), Skippy and Van have been drafted in to help William oversee some “surprises” for the couple on their wedding night including the car they will drive off in after their wedding. According to one of their friends, Van and Skippy will be on hand to help William with his best man’s speech should he need any assistance.

“Skippy and Van will be ushers but they will also be helping with the evening,” the source said. “William has a big task with the speech and Van and Skippy have all the best tales.”

Skippy, who was with Harry during that infamous weekend in Vegas in 2012, is joining Van and William to plan Harry’s stag weekend, which they are determined to keep below the radar.
