Key and Peele Reunite for Adorable Toy Story 4 Teaser

“To infinity and your mom!”

A Key and Peele reunion has emerged from an unlikely source. On Tuesday, Pixar dropped a teaser posing as a “reaction” to the studio’s first Toy Story 4 snippet, which just came out Monday. The new clip features two carnival toys named Ducky and Bunny, voiced by a familiar comedy duo: Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, respectively (both of whom will actually be in Toy Story 4). The short itself feels less like a reaction video and more of an animated revamp of the pair’s recurring “Liam Neesons” bit from their old Comedy Central series. In that segment, the duo played two valets who passionately obsessed over Neeson’s movies, from Darkman to Non-Stop, and flipped out over the fact that the actor’s never won an Oscar.

For Toy Story, Key and Peele bring the bit down to a G-rated level, flipping out over the fact that Toy Story 4 exists—and doing their best Buzz Lightyear and Woody impressions. Except they can’t quite remember Buzz’s classic catchphrase.

“To infinity and your mom,” Bunny says. “To insanity and a blonde!” Ducky rejoinders. And on and on these adorable toys go, until the real Woody and Buzz come along and let them know once and for all it’s “to infinity and beyond.”

Ah! It’s nice to have the old Key and Peele energy back, even if it is in a kid-friendly animated clip. The duo ended their Emmy-winning Comedy Central sketch series in 2015, flitting off to pursue other projects. Key has stacked up a slew of film roles since then, including an upcoming voice role in The Lion King, while Peele directed the hit social thriller Get Out, scooping up an Oscar along the way. He’s since gone deeper down the horror path, revamping The Twilight Zone for a new generation and directing his sophomore feature, Us. It’ll probably be a while before they get the band back together, but all we ask is that they consider doing a few more mini-reunions now and again.

Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 21, 2019.
