How Zendaya Evolved into a Young Style Icon

Zendaya has been a television star and red carpet fixture since she was 14, but it was at the 2015 Oscars that she reached true style icon status. After wearing a silk Vivienne Westwood gown and dreads on the world’s most prominent red carpet, the singer and actress was thrust onto almost every red carpet wearing something different and daring, standing out from her young millennial peers as well as Hollywood veterans. With her role in Spider-man: Homecoming, she’s quickly on her way to becoming a bona fide movie star, but we’ll never forget her start as a risk-taking trendsetter.
