When the World’s Greatest Artists Become Art Themselves

Photographer Jason Schmidt has photographed more than 500 artists in his career. And 166 of them, including Yayoi Kusama, Roni Horn, and Bruce Nauman, are included in his new book, Artists II, which aims to capture the painters, sculptors, and photographers in the context of their work spaces—and sometimes even with their own creations. The result? A stunning window into the experimental processes of modern day’s most significant artistic minds.
