Adventures in Hollywood

T.J. Miller’s First Hollywood Party Involved White Tigers and Paris Hilton

It’s like a lost scene from The Hangover.

T.J. Miller got a weird, wonderful welcome to Hollywood. In 2007, the Silicon Valley actor was just starting out in the industry; pretty quickly, he got invited to a big pre-Emmy party thrown by infamous NBC executive Ben Silverman. Since he still remembers every blissfully strange detail, he shared the outrageous story with Viceland’s new show Party Legends—and you can watch Miller recall the whole sordid tale in the exclusive video above.

“There was a white tiger in a giant cage up front—just to take pictures with,” Miller recalls. The most “surreal” thing about that? Almost nobody cared about the enormous animal’s presence: “That was almost weirder than the tiger, was how nonplussed Hollywood was by it.”

Walking around Silverman’s abode confirmed “all the things that I’d always heard about Hollywood,” Miller says. The appetizers were “weird,” and the pool was full of models despite the chilly late fall weather.

Later, he got to the dance floor and saw herParis Hilton, the patron saint of early aughts celebutantes, fresh off the final season of her glorious reality series The Simple Life. It was almost too perfect, the Hollywood icing on the gluten-free cake. So of course, Miller tried to dance with her. Watch above to see if he made it happen . . . or got soundly rejected by hotel heiress.
