The world is a turbulent place as of late, and there seem to be few things people can rely on. But in the words of the great Jon Bon Jovi, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Despite all of the growing chaos, the sun will still rise, the world will still turn, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will still be Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. In a recent interview with Vogue, the designers discussed some of their personal interests, which are exactly what you’d expect them to be.

“I sage everything, all the time. Constantly sage-ing,” said Mary-Kate. “I don’t want bad energy. Clean space.”

Is there anything that sounds more Olsen than that? As it turns out, there is! The sisters, to the surprise of no one, are also big fans of crystals. According to Ashley, the women “love crystals.” Mary-Kate then quipped that “We were going to put crystals everywhere today.” Even if they did, would anyone bat an eye?

The Olsens have remained on the forefront of every alt-turned-mainstream trend since they moved to New York for college in 2004. Back when the days of “hobo chic” and oversized Starbucks cups seemed to go hand-in-hand, the young women sparked a cultural reaction that caused every cool girl to go out and spend hundreds of dollars on disheveled sweaters and dresses five sizes up from what they would normally wear—taking the boho trend out of communes in Sedona and onto the streets of Manhattan.

The reclusive sisters have stuck to their lives of high fashion and extreme privacy for more than a decade now, having moved on from being child star moguls to fashion moguls seemingly effortlessly. When they make rare public appearances, be it the C.F.D.A. Awards or the Met Gala, they’re almost always posing together, cloaked in their usual uniform of long and flowing gowns (perhaps to make more room for the crystals?)—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
