On Wednesday, the world learned that not only does Kanye West love Donald Trump, but he has his own “Make America Great Again” hat—and it’s signed! To be so lucky! In case West didn’t get his point across via Twitter, he stepped out in Calabasas on Wednesday wearing the signed red cap.
In a series of tweets, West professed his love for Trump, writing, “You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.”
It’s unclear what dragon energy is.
After showing off photos of his MAGA hat, he posted a screenshot of a tweet showing Apple C.E.O. Tim Cook meeting with Trump, later adding, “2 of my favorite people.”
The Trump family has already welcomed West with open arms (or tweets, rather). In response to the dragon-energy tweet, Trump wrote, “Thank you Kanye, very cool!” He also re-tweeted West’s photo of the hat, tweeting, “MAGA!”
Trump’s daughter, Ivanka had her own response to West’s tweet, simply writing, “#truth.”
On Instagram, Donald Trump Jr. waxed poetic about West’s love for his father, writing, “Regardless of your feelings it’s great to see a celebrity finally not back down to liberal groupthink. Last week Kanye said he “like(s) the way @realcandaceowens(of @turningpointusa) thinks” he didn’t pick an ideology or even endorse conservatism he just liked the way someone thought, and in 2018 because she doesn’t toe the liberal line that was enough to immediately draw the usual character assignations and even call him alt-right . . . you can’t make this crap up. But like someone else I know (see pic) Kanye had the guts (aka) to fight back and stand up for free thought, speech and ideas. We need more of that! The left only wants total capitulation. Don’t ever surrender!!! #thoughts #freedom.”
Trump Jr. also latched onto Kim Kardashian’s defense of her husband. Kardashian tweeted that the media was “So quick to label him as having mental health issues for just being himself when he has always been expressive is not fair.” Trump Jr.’s response: #ImWithHer.
In short, Keeping Up with Kanye has never been more exhausting, and Kris Jenner probably deserves a nap.
