Emmys 2022 Red Carpet: All the Fashion, Outfits & Looks

Roll out the red carpet, because it’s already time for the 2022 Emmys. On Monday, the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards honored the best in American television with an awards ceremony hosted by Kenan Thompson and broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. All eyes were on the cast, crew, and creators of Succession, as HBO’s fan favorite is lead the charge with 25 nominations. Close behind were The White Lotus and the Jason Sudeikis–led Ted Lasso, each with 20 nominations. 

While you were putting the finishing touches on your 2022 Emmys ballot, TV’s biggest stars were in hair and makeup, making last-minute adjustments to their long-planned looks—because hours before nervous nominees made their way to their seats, winners were announced, and heartfelt speeches were delivered, style took center stage on the Emmy red carpet. And with a list of attendees that included fashion favorites like Hoyeon, Sandra Oh, Lizzo, Zendaya, and more, the red carpet showcased a bevy of looks (and sartorial decisions) made by Hollywood’s most coveted stylists. White Lotus costars Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Alexandra Daddario, Natasha Rothwell, and Sydney Sweeney were all nominated for outstanding supporting actress in a limited or anthology series or movie, which should result in an unforgettable photo op. 

For a whole two hours before the Emmy ceremony, the red carpet played host to incredible fashion. There was Zendaya exuding elegance in a strapless black Valentino gown, Quinta Brunson in a custom brown metallic Dolce & Gabbana creation (which she described as making her feel like “teeny, tiny Jessica Rabbit”), Reese Witherspoon wearing over 210 carats of Tiffany & Co. jewels, and Lily James in a Versace number she described as “just heaven." 

Meanwhile, white suits were the breakout menswear trend of the night with John Legend, Seth Rogen, Andrew Garfield and more all wearing crisp, bright suiting. Nicolas Hoult leaned into accessories, wearing a Briony Raymond sterling silver and paste stone riviere necklace underneath his shirt collar.
